About Lionel Flon

Early into his childhood, Lionel Flon was initiated into gastronomy through Relais & Châteaux (a select group of luxury hotels and boutique restaurants showcasing great regional food), Michelin star establishments, like Paul Bocuse’s Brasseries in Lyon, and other renowned French restaurants.

When Lionel was 17, he moved to California, where he discovered a wide array of new flavors and concoctions. Additionally, many of his Asian friends introduced him to the delicacy of authentic Japanese and Korean cuisines.

After moving to New England from California in early 2020, Lionel devoted himself to the search for great local eateries. In fact, restaurants offering flavorful specialty dishes incorporating local products abounded. Naturally, his penchant for brunch tasting increased due to the variety of delectable concoctions that he kept experiencing. The ingenuity behind these creations incited him to write the New England Gourmet to share the gastronomic experiences that particularly enticed his palate!
