The town of Easton with its quintessential New England suburb feel is home to perhaps my favorite brunch spot: The Farmer’s Daughter. The menu, offering delectable, original, and diverse dishes, is updated daily. Additionally, many ingredients used in their recipes originate from local farms, listed on the restaurant’s wall.As a result, this constant renewal of the menu aligns with the seasons for the utmost freshness of the food at any time of the year. Such assiduity and attention to detail denote a perfectionism that undeniably extends to the plate.
The Chicken & Waffle Benedict garnished with chives, bacon, and bacon jam conveyed abundant rich and contrasting flavors. As for the Banh Mi, its delicate and delightful mixture of onion turkey sausage meatballs and pickled ginger maple carrot parsley slaw constituted the perfect stuffing. Finally, the desert was equally worthy of praise. Their peach French toast bestows upon the palate a certain butteriness and fluffiness introduced by the brioche, the cream, and the coulis, and directly contrasted by the crispiness of the dried fruits and nuts. As expected, a delightful declination of flavors stemmed from such a concoction. It’s virtually impossible to chose a bad dessert!
As you might have gathered by now, I really like The Farmer’s Daughter. In fact, I hope I didn’t hype it too much! Hence, my laudatory discourse shall halt here. One last note: if you go to the Easton location, a digestive stroll to the 130-year-old public library is highly recommended. Conversely, their other restaurant in Sudbury, which neighbors a Whole Foods, doesn’t exude the same level of quaintness.
