If you love carbs, I recommend going to the Black Sheep Cafe for highly enjoyable fresh homemade bagel sandwiches. However, before finally savoring your first bite, be ready to endure a dire parking situation, an ever-growing waiting line, and a possible early closing if they run out of bagels. In other words, it certainly puts one’s love for bagels to the test! Nonetheless, it’s worth the trouble.

Their bagel sandwiches are customizable to a degree thanks to the variety of bagels (sesame, whole wheat, garlic & onion, etc.) and add-ons. In the Breakfast BLT, for example, the homemade maple bacon cream cheese instilled an exquisite touch of sweetness that blended nicely with the tomato, avocado, bacon, and turkey. Similarly, in the Bacon, Egg, & Fig bagel sandwich, the bacon and the fig jam complemented harmoniously each other. They also enhanced the softer texture and more subdued taste of the avocado. The sheer size of both bagels surprised me.
